So a couple of days ago I posted my bad transcript of Star Trek. It's had an effect on bbot.org's stats.
The whole of bbot.org is at 6506 uniques and 19085 hits for May, up from April's 424 and 4433, respectively. Fortunately, the script's only 22 kilobytes, or else I'd be hurting. Amusingly, I've served 15.31 megabytes of 404 errors, since that page doesn't have a icon, or a background image that the style sheet calls for.
I promoted it pretty lightly. I posted the link in an irc channel, on my blog, and most significantly, to the Star Trek spoilers thread on Making Light. Note the clever use of third person, mwa ha, ha ha ha.
From there it was mentioned on Bill Leisner's livejournal, then to Keith DeCandido's.
From there it metastized to Reddit, and, as I type this, to the front page of Collegehumor (permlink)
I received my second ever fan mail:
And I also got a not-fan-mail, as mentioned in the update to the previous post:Thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. That was a typical sci-fi action movie. Wasn't my idea of Trek. My friend has had headaches ever since reading the pre-movie comic. Watching the movie made them worse. Again, thank you for pointing out the 'should have been obvious during production'. Charon

I haven't had a chance to read it yet (I'm doing one of my own later) but I sure like the way it's formatted ;) I'm actually e-mailing to be kind of a dick and ask you to rename your script a bit. Basically just to not use the phrase "abridged script". You could call it the star trek shortened script or the quickie script or something like that, but I've got a trademark on the "Abridged Script" phrase, and technically I can't own that trademark without enforcing it and sending douchey e-mails like this one. I've bookmarked it for later and I look forward to reading it, but please change the name of the thing. Thanks, Rod Hilton (the guy that runs The Editing Room)

I didn't submit it to reddit, though, and don't know how to go about changing it there.

And while I'm doing a vanity-post, I should mention that Iron is fully operational, and will soon be the subject of its own post. I've ignored everything else on the .plan, though!
